Pressure Washing
Rust Stain Removal
Orange staining on concrete and pavers is usually iron — either from irrigation water drawn off a well, or from fertilizer broadcast across a driveway. It is not dirt, so it does not respond to washing. More pressure will not shift it; it will only wear the surface. Rust needs a dedicated treatment that converts and lifts the staining chemically.
What's Included
- Identification of the source — irrigation, fertilizer or embedded metal
- Rust-specific treatment applied to the stained area
- Controlled dwell and neutralising rinse
- Advice on preventing recurrence, usually an irrigation adjustment
What Does Rust Stain Removal Cost?
Pricing depends on:
- Size of the stained area and how long it has been there
- Surface type — pavers, stamped concrete and plain concrete differ
- Whether the source is still active and needs addressing first

Find the source
Fan-shaped staining points to a sprinkler head; scattered spotting points to fertilizer. The source changes the treatment and whether it will return.
Test a small area
We treat a discreet patch first to confirm the result before committing to the whole surface.
Treat and dwell
The treatment is applied and given time to work. This is chemistry, not pressure.
Neutralise and rinse
A neutralising rinse so nothing is left to keep reacting with the surface or surrounding plants.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why will not pressure washing remove my rust stains?
Rust is iron bonded into the surface, not dirt sitting on top of it. Washing removes what is on the surface; rust needs a treatment that breaks the bond chemically.
Will the stains come back?
If the source is still running, yes. Where staining comes from irrigation we will point out which head is causing it so it can be adjusted.
How do you know what is causing my rust stains?
The pattern usually tells us — fan-shaped staining points to a sprinkler head, while scattered spotting points to fertilizer. We confirm with a test patch before treating the full area.
